Short answer : In Montréal, temporary orange signs announce snow loading; a car left in place can be towed, and Info-remorquage helps you find it. In Laval, alternate-side parking applies from October 1 to April 30 where signs show it, with alerts in Info-Stationnement.
Montréal
In Montréal, each borough runs its own snow removal and signage. During snow loading, temporary orange signs ban parking, and a car left in place can be towed. The 311 Montréal and INFO-Neige MTL apps show current operations.
Can't find your car after an operation? The City's Info-remorquage service locates it by licence plate.
Laval
In Laval, the City says alternate-side parking applies from October 1 to April 30 where signs show it, and illuminated dynamic signs are in service in Pont-Viau, Laval-des-Rapides and Chomedey. The Info-Stationnement app sends alerts.
When in doubt, the City asks you to follow the bans posted on each side of the street.
